1ST GRADUATION CEREMONY AND CHRISTMAS CONCERT This year Green House in conjunction with Little Rock Early Childhood Education Center, held a very colorful Christmas concert! The children had put a lot of effort in preparation for this event! This was also the first graduation ceremony for the children in Green house! The invitation letters were sent out one month earlier to guests who were expected to crown the event. The event took place on the 31St November All the guests were expected to arrive at 11am.All Deaf Aid employees attended this event and we were all there on time. We found some of the guests and the parents seated and the children were preparing to go on stage. When everyone was seated, the children took to the stage and gave a very wonderful performance, they did a play from the bible about Joseph who was sold by his brothers but later he became the King of Egypt. They also recited poems, did some traditional dances and Christmas chorals. This was a day of celebration and not only were students awarded but the most hard working male and female parents were also awarded, It was mentioned that this two parents have proved to be very corporative with the school administration, they took good care of their children, their children hardly missed classes and they always came to school with clean uniform this parents needed recognition because they do not neglect their children. I thought this was a very good way of motivating other parents. The most exiting part of this event was the graduation! This was the first graduation ceremony for the children in the Green House! This event saw four of our kids crowned as graduates; they will be joining primary school next year! Both the parents and the children were very exited and happy! This event made them feel mature and ready to go to formal school! Mr. Jean-Claude Adzalla was presenting the certificates to the children and every one had a big smile on their faces! As the children received their certificates they looked very happy and colorful in black striped green gowns and their parents who were also present seem to be very proud as they took pictures of their children! The room was full of noise as people cheered, whistled and clapped. The hardest working child was also awarded. Everything seem to be very well organized, all the staff members and parents were very co-operative. The guests of honor who had been invited gave several speeches and they encouraged the parents and the teachers to continue with the god work they have been doing for this children. All the children received a Christmas present! A big cake was cut to mark the 4Th anniversary of the Little Rock ECD center! This was a very special day especially for these Deaf children. Their parents never dreamed that their children would one day attain early childhood education and proceed to primary school! They were very thankful to Deaf Aid for the good work the organization has been doing for these children. Everything went on smoothly and at the end of the event the children and the parents were treaded to a special meal. Green house closed that day for the Christmas holiday and the children will resume school next year in January.
